Ways of Giving

Making a gift from the heart for the heart…
You can support “… a future free of heart disease and stroke” at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center with many different types of gifts. The easiest gifts for the donor to make and those that provide the most immediate difference in the battle against heart disease and stroke are cash or marketable securities from an individual, a family foundation, a corporate matching donor or other sources.
More complicated, but worth exploring, are gifts of real estate or tangible personal property. You may also make gifts of cash or marketable securities that allow you and your family to retain some of the income, while benefiting the work of the Sarver Heart Center over the long term.
Yet another way to give your support and leave a legacy is through a planned gift. There are many vehicles through the UA Foundation Office of Gift Planning for you to consider when planning your estate.

Why do cellphones explode

NAGPUR: Mobile phones may be treated like playthings these days. However, these flashy gadgets can prove dangerous if not handled with care. Several instances have been reported about the phones blasting off suddenly, the latest victim of which was a 14-year-old child of daily wage workers from Seoni. The blast was so bad that the boy narrowly escaped death and ended up with severe disfigurement to his jaw, nose, mouth and face. TOI tells you the do's and don'ts of handling mobile phones.

How and why do mobile phone blasts happen?

The most common reasons for a cell phone to explode are using it while the phone is being charged and 'call bombing'. Charging puts pressure on the motherboard of the phone, using it during charging increases this pressure manifold. This causes the cheap electronic components in some mobiles to explode. Call bombing refers to calls or missed calls received from international numbers. If one receives or calls these numbers back and the call exceeds a certain amount of time, the phone will blast. There is also a malware, or bug, found in some Android-based smartphones, that can also cause explosion by exerting extra pressure on the motherboard during charging.

How to Format the C Drive With Windows 7

In Windows 7, you can format your C drive without being required to format all the other disk drives, or partitions, on your computer. The Windows 7 installation disc that was included with your computer at the time of purchase will allow you to format the C drive and erase all your settings, files, and programs on that partition. To format your C drive, you can save and back up your files and programs to an external disc before using the Windows 7 installation discs to complete the formatting procedure.
step 1( look at the image )
Back up and save your files. Formatting the C drive will erase all files, programs, and information saved on the C drive, so you may want to back up any files you want saved.
  • Save your files to an external hard drive or disc, or save your files to another folder on the network, if applicable.

PM Narendra Modi to review India

PM Narendra Modi to review India Post Task Force report tomorrow

PTI Jan 6, 2015, 05.13PM IST
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Naredra Modi will meet Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tomorrow to review report of the India Post Task Force that was set up to suggest ways for turning around the world's largest postal network.
The meeting will focus on India Post's new role relating to banking, insurance and eCommerce operations, a source in the government said.
"Prime Minister will meet Prasad tomorrow to review the India Post Task Force report and deliberate on ways to leverage its huge network for banking, insurance and eCommerce operations," the source added.
The government is planning to utilise the huge resources at the disposal of India Post to provide cost-effective and innovative solutions to the citizens like financial services using digital connectivity, the source said.
The idea is to enable the postman in rural areas to provide services like savings and insurance, normal postal operations and also value added services like accepting payments of various services as well as registration of data.
Modi had set up the Task Force in 2014 to leverage the postal network in India and to enhance the role of India Post in financial inclusion, among other services like delivery of goods for eCommerce firms.
In December last year, the Task Force had submitted its report to Prasad. It noted that with its Rs 6 lakh crore in deposits, India Post is second only to the country's largest bank SBI.
The report suggested that the government should set up a holding company under the Department of Posts for immediate roll out of banking, insurance and e-commerce services by the 1.55 lakh strong postal network.
